Problematic Exchange offices

The Czech National Bank for the first time revoked the license of the exchange office for violating the new obligations established by the Law on exchange activities. These were companies named Pemex change, exclusive change and Chivas Invest, which provided a fund exchange in the heart of Prague. At the same time, the bank was fined about 200 thousand to 300 thousand crowns.

The company violated the law according to the standards set by the CNB. The information obtained about the designated company is only in the Commercial Registry and does not have a website or publish other contact details or information. From the 4th month of last year, amendments to the law introduced the possibility of cancelling unfavorable shifts within 3 hours after implementation or prohibiting the publication of so-called VIP courses, which are strictly prohibited by law.
Their exchange rate notes did not contain all the details required by law and the Exchange office did not allow the client to withdraw from the exchange transaction, i.e. they did not cancel. At the same time, companies that violated their obligations were repeatedly fined and several times in the past ranged from 35 million to 50 million crowns. From the exchange, of course, zely offers much more profitable and inexpensive VIP courses.

Some exchange workers argued that they had little time and resources to implement the changes. They also argue about the impossibility of the layout of the software, which had all the responsibility. They originate in the New Testament and can work. According to spokeswoman Marketa Fičerová, the exchange had enough time to improve conditions and prepare. Vague measures were proposed in 2017 by the Czech National Bank, which is obliged to oversee the activities of all existing exchange offices. This government amendment was supported by the House of Representatives last year, and the Senate has since approved it. At the same time, the Association issued a statement that it does not know of projects that have undergone similar or legal activities.
